About the event
Jenny Robinson and Pat Samples will be co-teaching this weekly group.
We will be demonstrating the process of starting and finishing an oil painting, while helping students to follow along with the teacher. Photo references provided. Emphasis on group guidance as well as individualized instruction. Classes wlll cover the use of values, composition, an understanding of color relationships, and other techniques, in an informal, come-when-you-can setting. Beginning to advanced students welcome. Paint along with the teaher or work on your own painting and recieve help from one of our accomplised Artists.
Suggested Supply List
Paper towels,
Rectangular canvas such as 11x14, 12x16 or 9x12
Gamsol paint thinner (odorless), jar with lid
Palette knife for mixing paint
Glass or paper palette
Apron, vinyl or latex gloves
I will bring a standing easel for myself
Basic required paints
Titanium White or any white
Ultramarine Blue
Alizarin Crimson (or red that you prefer)
Lemon Yellow or Cadmium Yellow Light
Burnt Sienna
Suggested paints that I also use:
Naples Yellow,
Portland Cool Grey or a medium cool grey
Yellow Ochre or Raw Sienna or Indian Yellow
